What this tool does
QR Generator turns a link, block of text, Wi-Fi credentials, or email address into a scannable QR code that any phone camera can read. Everything is generated locally in your browser — nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
How it works
- Content type — choose what the QR code should encode: a URL, plain text, Wi-Fi network details, or a pre-filled email.
- Fill in the fields — for Wi-Fi, scanning the code lets a phone join the network directly without typing the password; for Email, scanning opens a new message already addressed and subject-filled.
- Size — the pixel dimensions of the generated image.
- Foreground / Background — customize the code's colors. Keep strong contrast between them so scanners can read it reliably.
- Error correction — higher levels let the code still scan even if it's partly damaged or obscured, at the cost of a denser pattern. Medium is a good default; use High if you plan to add a logo on top or print it small.
- Download PNG — saves the current code as an image file.
Good to know
- The QR code updates live as you type or change settings — no separate "generate" step needed.
- Very long text produces a denser, harder-to-scan code; shorter content (like a shortened URL) scans more reliably, especially at small print sizes.
- Wi-Fi codes only work with networks that use WPA/WPA2, WEP, or no password — enterprise networks requiring a username aren't supported by this format.
