What this tool does
Image Cropper is a browser-based tool for trimming an image down to a chosen rectangular area. Everything happens locally in your browser — the image is never uploaded anywhere.
How it works
- Choose Image — pick a photo from your device. It appears in the preview area at its natural proportions.
- Adjust the crop box — drag the highlighted rectangle to move it, or drag any corner handle to resize it. Everything outside the box is dimmed to show what will be cut away.
- Aspect ratio (optional) — lock the crop box to a fixed ratio (square, 4:3, 16:9, 3:4) instead of a free-form shape.
- Download Crop — renders just the selected area at full resolution and saves it as a PNG file.
- Reset — clears the current image so you can start over with a new one.
Good to know
- Processing happens entirely on your device using the HTML canvas — no server, no upload.
- The exported file matches the crop box's proportions at the source image's original resolution, not the shrunk preview size.
- Works with common formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame).
